If Zombie boy can use it...

Just when you thought your concealer wasn't enough to cover that annoying pimple you got this morning, you may want to take a look at Rick Genest. Rick is known as "Zombie Boy" for his head to toe tattoos and featured on the Guiness World Records as well as Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" video.

Add one more to his list now. L'Oréal owned cosmetics brand, Dermablend took advantage of the Rick canvas to make it well...blank.

To prove how well the concealer works, Dermablend's agency, Agence Tuxedo, set out to use Rick Genest in their latest commercial. The one person who could use their product the most, but chooses not to conceal anything. See it below or here: http://vimeo.com/30036902

You can watch the incredible transformation from full tattoo body suit to completely concealed here:

See today's article on adweek http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/ad-day-dermablend-136070

Dermablend has also created a whole microsite http://gobeyondthecover.com/  that features a profile on zombie boy, behind the scenes footage and a discussion feed on "judging the cover."

For those of you who like music as much as I do: Zoo Brazil feat Rasmus Kellerman "There is Hope" is the soundtrack to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4GrmfYNT4E and another good find by the same artist is "You can have it all" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXuECIOpl2k&feature=relmfu

Additional content: Interesting interview with Rick Genest:

Shout out to Juli for the insight!

Enjoy!

Wine and Banana

What's better than wine? Wine AND fashion. Yesterday, Banana Republic announced their collaboration with Clos du Bois wines this holiday season. Clos du Bois is actually in our neck of the woods up in Sonoma and one that is definitely worth checking out, especially with wine club friends!

As the WSJ article states (full article here) "what hostess wouldn't want a fashion sketch on the wine she serves"? Pick up the 2010 Chardonnay and you'll get the little black dress design by Banana Republic Creative Director Simon Kneen or the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon wearing a full skirted, red dress.

Perhaps the coolest part of this collaboration is that each bottle contains a QR code that allows you to stream a custom party soundtrack, access style tips from Simon Kneen, advice on entertaining from a lifestyle expert and food and wine recommendations from Clos du Bois Winemaker Gary Sitton.

We all know what we're serving at our upcoming dinner parties. Now am I in the mood for red paired with my Cabernet or a little black dress with my Chardonnay?

Enjoy!

The UGG Antidote and Tom Brady

Now do I have your attention? Throw Tom Brady in a headline and you've got everyone reading on. In honor of my past weekend in Boston, I had the chance to see Brady throw the winning pass with 22 seconds left of the game, handing the win to the Patriots 20, Cowboys 16. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett post-game said "When you're playing against a quarterback like Tom Brady, he's going to go down as one of the all-time greats."

You have to see the winning Pass here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd4c-6Y7an8&feature=player_detailpage#t=103s

So will Tom Brady forever be remembered as an all-star quarterback, the proud husband of supermodel Gisele Bundchen and now a model himself? for UGGs?  Open the latest W magazine fashion issue or drive down 93 in Boston and you're bound to see the giant Tom Brady wallscape ad looking down on you. Check out the creative below:

He's also featured in UGGs new TV campaign. The dizzying camera effects follow Brady running through the city, ultimately ending in his very own locker room. Gotta love the AdWeek article back when the campaign first launched who said it best when describing the spot "Yes, I am Tom Brady. I am in an UGG commercial. And neither of us is quite sure what just happened." Good luck, UGG. I don't know if you'll get a bigger male market share. But any teen girls who are watching Monday Night Football next week... are totally going to swoon" so guys don't be surprised when your girlfriend comes home with a brand new pair of UGGs.

Check out "Steps"below:

Tom on UGGs:

Parody:

Meanwhile, UGGs continue to be mocked for their "lack of style" per say and you can find anti-UGG groups all over social media and the internet. Just yesterday, New York Magazine featured a hilarious mockery of the perfect antidote to UGGs called "Uggcitrin"

So will UGG be the comeback kid with Tom Brady in the mix? Guess we'll have to wait and see. For now I'm off to get vaccinated.
